This memorial website was created to remember our dearest father, Lester Clayton Haugen who was born in Landa, North Dakota on March 7, 1914 and passed away on February 27, 1990 at his home in Shoreline, WA. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.  Dad would not have wanted a lot of words to describe him, but here are a few anyway; hard working, loyal, smart, proud, creative, a "can do" man, someone who wanted to be needed and relied upon, devoted friend, devoted husband, and a proud father.  Dad's last words were that "He was going to miss his family".  While he was not always there for us kids, he was always working to support the family, no matter how hard it became.  Dad's lasting legacy, to me, is how hard he worked the last ten years of his career, in order to put money away for mother, who he realized would well out live him and who would some day need the financial support.  Dad, that all worked out perfectly.  You are gone now more than 21 years but are still a huge part of my life in so many ways.  Love always, David
